Frequently Asked Questions
Do I really need a house cleaner? I could just do it myself.
Absolutely—you can! Most people can. Hiring a cleaner isn’t about ability, it’s about time, mental load, and the relief of not having to keep up with everything on top of an already full life. Think of it as buying back several hours each month and a calmer home.
How much do you charge?
Hotdish pricing reflects the time, supplies, and detailed work that go into every clean. You’re paying for professional standards, reliability, and consistent care; not a rushed or “surface only” clean. Hotdish isn’t a giant corporation. It’s a local, small business.
What is included in a regular cleaning?
A typical visit includes: kitchen counters, surfaces, and appliances wiped, bathroom cleaning (toilets, sinks, tubs/showers), dusting, floors vacuumed and mopped, light tidying, spot-cleaning where needed, a “reset” feel so your home is easier to manage day to day.
Why do you have to do a deep cleaning first?
We start with a deep clean, not because your home is a disaster (promise!), but because it gives us a really nice reset. After that, the monthly cleanings stay easy and consistent.
What do you do at the walk through?
You and your cleaner will take a short tour of your home, in the spaces you want cleaned. You can tell us what you don’t want cleaned, specific requests, any concerns you have and if you have pets that want scritches we’ll make sure they’re comfortable with us too. We’ll have you show us your vacuum and any other specific cleaning tools or supplies you prefer. Then your cleaner will bid you adieu and we will send you a no-obligation quote within 24 hours.
Why do you have to use my vacuum? Can’t you just bring one?
We don’t want to bring dander, dust bunnies and dirt from house to house.
Why don’t you clean windows?
We’ve found that our talents are best suited to a larger area throughout a home and focusing on windows is not cost effective for us/customers. We are happy to recommend local window cleaning companies!
I have pets. Is that going to be ok?
Absolutely! Pets are part of the family. Though we do request that if you have reactive animals (biting, running, aggressive, etc.) that they be kept in a secure location before the cleaners arrive and during the cleaning.
